There are two species of giant Koompasia  bean (legume) trees growing in the Ulu Temburong forests. Koompasia excelsa  and Koompasia malccensis. Both species can be seen from the Belalong Canopy Walkway and both are illustrated on this website. With experience it is easy to tell them apart.     The Koompasia  excelsa tree illustrated above grows next to the Ulu Ulu Resort on the Temburong River 45 minutes walk from the Belalong Canopy Walkway.
